If you caught the 2017 Golden Globe Awards and followed along on social media, you already know that the night was not short of incredibly glamorous people. Now that Instagram and Twitter make it easier than ever for celebs to share their pre-award show beauty routines and jittery thoughts, we get to see a whole new side of their personalities. Before, we only got to glimpse at the stars red-carpet ready, only getting to know who and what they were wearing if they were stopped by an eager reporter.
But now we get the whole scoop and even celebs like the gorgeous Blake Lively admit that they 'did not wake up like this.'
We were wowed by a lot of the looks that strolled down that famed carpet, but we wanted to make special note of the most stand-out looks. To note up front, we were interested to see that quite a few of last season's trends were still going strong. However, upcoming 2017 jewellery trends did start to make an appearance on the trendsetters. You'll find this all here in our recap!
Chrissy Tiegen, Naomie Harris and Natalie Portman went large with earrings
Keep an eye out, or rather, an ear out for this trend in 2017 – statement earrings are starting to sweep the streets. They may have spelled John Legend's name wrong, but Chrissy Tiegen sure got her accessorising right. Ruby dangly earrings matched her perfectly puckered red lips for a look that really stood out.
"Moonlight" star Naomie Harris, clad in Versace, detailed her gown with a pair of diamond earrings that climbed up her ear like a delicate vine of ivy. Across the red carpet, Natalie Portman's ears were dripping in a fringe of diamonds for a very pristine look.
Emma Stone dazzles in diamonds
Always a vision, the bubbly Emma Stone did not disappoint us with her accessorising. She stole the show with her stunning Tiffany diamond necklace and earrings. They popped with her silver sparkle eye shadow and, of course, hazel eyes. She was one of our personal favourites of the night.
Michelle Williams tie choker
Michelle Williams wasn't ready to give up the 2016 choker trend just yet. And why should she be? The piece's neat black bow complemented her lacy Louis Vuitton dress expertly. Fortunately, we see that the choker isn't going anywhere just yet, and is actually evolving a bit. Michelle's look might be on point with last year's look, but we think the chokers are here to stay – they're just going through a bit of an evolution.
Sienna Miller with the bold classic
If you were looking for a simplistic accessoriser on this year's carpet, you couldn't find any! Sienna Miller wore a classic pearl necklace, but in the boldest way possible. The large pearls popped of her decolletage and were supported with classy diamond earrings. All together, she looked like a modern day Jackie O and it really worked.
Tracee Ellis Ross stacked on the rings
Just like her acceptance speech, Tracee Ellis Ross made a striking statement with her hands clad in stacks of gorgeous diamond rings. Literally every finger sported a ring from various designers but we wouldn't have styled her any other way. She needed a look that was as bold as her, and she got it.
As always, if you want to look as stunning as your favourite celebs on their most fun night of the year, you have to accessorise accordingly! We've got all the jewellery you need to look the part every time you leave the house here at Showcase Jewellers.
If you're looking for the perfect, meaningful way to say congratulations, these two diamond and pearl gift ideas certainly won't disappoint.
By now you've probably heard Kanye West's interesting speech, so hopefully you're ready for a new topic. Let's check out all the amazing red carpet fashion instead!
Citrine is commonly mistaken as topaz. However, you'll find that this yellow gem has many unique qualities - let's have a look!
